Oshman Family JCC - Something for Everyone

The Oshman Family JCC on the Taube Koret Campus will encompass over 135,000 square feet and several buildings. It will be a multi-use facility with programs and services for everyone from tots to seniors and from singles to new parents and families. Among the recreational facilities will be a state-of-the-art fitness center, three gymnasiums, large indoor and outdoor pools and a future sports field. Classroom buildings will include facilities for large and small classes and varied uses. A beautiful new Cultural Arts Center with sophisticated acoustics and lighting will accommodate over 300 people for music, art, drama and lecture events. Other facilities include a dedicated preschool building, a teen center, a café and a gift shop.  

A Model of Sustainability and Community-building
A strong “green” consciousness will be pervasive throughout, including the use of many materials with high levels of recycled content; single ply roofing to reduce heat absorption; and a north–south building orientation for more daylight and less glare. Abundant native plant landscaping will be watered using a Computerized Irrigation Control System. visitors will notice the sustainable bamboo flooring in the gymnasiums and low emission paints and carpeting and energy efficient lighting throughout the facilities.
